It is an honor for the City of Big Bear Lake to recognize the men and women who are actively serving our Country with the Armed Forces Banner Program. The Big Bear Lake Armed Forces Banner program recognizes and honors Big Bear Valley residents and immediate family members ( spouse, parent, legal guardian, child, or siblings) that are serving on active duty in the United States Armed Forces. For the purpose of this program, "active duty" is defined as 12 months of continuous service.
To participate in the program, fill out the application below and include a copy of the driver's license or a current utility bill showing a Big Bear address of the military service person or his/her immediate family member. Each service person is allowed one banner and the banner will be installed for the service person's length of active service. Active-duty status and program eligibility will be verified annually.
The spelling of the name will be taken directly from the application. Once the application is approved, the City will create the banner. Banners will be installed twice a year (May and November) and will remain on display for the serviceperson's length of active service, or when the program concludes. Installation and removal of the banners are at the City's discretion.
