The City of Big Bear Lake and Big Bear Disposal have been working collaboratively over the eighteen (18) months in an effort to enhance solid waste services for our property owners, residents, businesses, and visitors. As a part of this ongoing effort, residential curbside trash collection will be transitioning to automated, cart service.
Beginning the week of June 12, Big Bear Disposal will provide all residential customers with the following:
- one (1) 96-gallon grey cart for regular trash/solid waste
- one (1) 96-gallon blue cart for recyclable materials
- optional: residential customers can request one (1) 96-gallon green cart for organic material/yard waste. Please note, Big Bear Disposal will accept bagged green waste in lieu of carts.

Big Bear Disposal is also offering pull-out cart service for an additional service fee of $45/month. Sign-up forms will be included in the mailers that will be distributed at the time the carts are distributed.
The automated curbside collection service is anticipated to begin the week of July 3; route schedules and collections days will not change.
