Each summer, the City of Big Bear Lake commences its street rehab program. In the summer of 2021, the City:

• Paved 2” of new asphalt on 23 different street segments, totaling 4.63 miles of new pavement.
• Placed approximately 8,114 tons of hot-mixed asphalt

This effort will continue with a budget of $1.4 million in each of the next five years. The efforts in 2021 came in $86,017 or 6.1 percent under budget. This is due to the hard work and efficiency of our Public Works Team.

These important rehab efforts protect the City’s roads in preparation for winter weather, snowplows and general wear and tear.
