ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN
 
The Position
The Administrative Technician performs a diverse range of occasionally confidential administrative, technical, and customer service functions that help departments operate efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include preparing reports, correspondence, forms, and specialized documents; maintaining records, files, and databases; assisting with contracts, grants, invoices, purchase orders, and other administrative processes; and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable policies and procedures. This position serves as an important point of contact for residents, employees, vendors, and community stakeholders by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information in person, by phone, and through email. Additional duties include coordinating meetings, public outreach and engagement activities, managing department communications, supporting software and technology initiatives, processing payments and cash receipts, and organizing departmental records and supplies. A successful candidate may also support boards and commissions, prepare meeting materials and minutes, assist with public records requests, manage website and social media content, and contribute to special projects that support departmental goals and City initiatives.

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR

The Position
This position will perform a variety of duties within the Public Works Department which include: plans, schedules, and supervises the work activities of operations staff responsible for construction, maintenance, repair, and/or operation of streets, parks, and storm drains. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supervises the maintenance/operation of the City’s wastewater collection system, pumps and lift stations; inspects construction/maintenance of the system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Primary duties also consist of overseeing snow removal activities; which may include operating a snowplow, and assisting in the City’s related responses to emergency incidents. In addition, the  successful candidate will monitor the crews’ work activities to ensure safe work practices, work quality, and accuracy. Under general direction from the Deputy Director of Public Works, the position will also perform other related and peripheral duties as required or becomes necessary for the successful performance of the Public Works Department. A successful candidate in this position will be required to work nights , weekends, and holidays, as well as respond to after-hours  emergency call-outs and perform routine standby duties.
