This Division serves as a resource to the City Council and City departments concerning liability claims exposure, City insurance coverage limits, deductibles, premiums, and Vendor insurance provisions in City contracts.

The Risk Management Division is responsible for the following functions:

  • manages primary and excess liability and workers’ compensation insurance coverage
  • makes recommendations regarding subrogation claims
  • collaborates with other City departments to anticipate and reduce potential claims for City projects and special events, in addition to day-to-day risk management of City sidewalks, streets, and public spaces
  • coordinates and organizes the City’s administrative policies and procedures
