Kendi Segovia was elected to Big Bear Lake City Council in November 2022. Although she is new to council, her family has had ties to Big Bear since the 1950’s, where the family has continuously owned a cabin in Fawnskin. Kendi is currently serving on the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority, the Mojave Desert Mountain Integrated Waste Joint Powers Authority and the San Bernardino County Solid Waste Advisory Task Force (SWAT). She is also Chairperson of the Big Bear Lake Successor Agency and Vice Chair of the Big Bear Lake Fire Protection Agency.
Kendi and her husband Chris moved with their 3 kids from the San Fernando Valley to Big Bear Lake in 1996. They have lived in the Fox Farm Area for 27 years. Kendi was very active in volunteering in the classroom and serving on several Booster Club Boards.
Kendi is retired from Big Bear Mountain Resorts where she was the Director of Guest Services. During her 15 plus years she managed a staff of over 100, prepared budgets and business plans and problem-solved for the Resort guests.
In her free time Kendi thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family, including her 5 grandchildren, who all still live in the Big Bear Valley.
Kendi has a clear vision of Big Bears history, what it is now and what it can be, with informed and honest leadership.
