Bear Valley Electric Service, Inc. has served the Valley since 1929. When Golden State Water Company acquired the company in 1938, they served a total of 147 customers. Today, BVES provides electric power to approximately 23,000 customers all through out the valley.

The City of Big Bear Lake, Department of Water and Power (DWP) provides water service to about 15,520 customers in the Bear Valley of the San Bernardino Mountains. Water is supplied to customers by pumping groundwater from local aquifers.

Southwest Gas (SW GAS) is the natural gas provider for both residential and commercial properties within the City of Big Bear Lake and the surrounding unincorporated communities within the Big Bear Valley.
