Building & Safety Department
The Building and Safety Division administers and enforces State and Federal regulations, local ordinances, and model codes. Staff reviews building plans, specifications, and engineering calculations, and inspects new construction for compliance with life, fire, and seismic safety requirements. The Building and Safety Division is available to the public for consultation concerning prospective projects. If you have a concern about a local contractor or would like to file a complaint directly with the Contractors State License Board, please visit www.cslb.ca.gov/Consumers/FilingAComplaint/FileAComplaint.asp
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the current COVID-19 situation, City Hall is limiting public access but we are still helping customers at the Building & Safety counter by appointment. Please email us at or call 909-866-5831 during normal business hours to schedule an appointment. In addition, some permits can be issued and paid for via email and thru use of the City’s website. Please download the Building Permit application from the list below and email your completed application to Building & Safety staff and a permit technician will respond shortly to discuss further permitting steps. There are currently no plans to suspend in-person inspections, but we will update this website if the situation changes. Please call our Inspection request hotline @ 909-752-2896 to request an inspection. Inspections are usually accommodated for the next business day. An Inspector will call you the morning of the inspection to give you a 2-hour arrival window.
